- Description: A pre-apprenticeship program designed to prepare individuals for a career in the construction industry. Provides individuals with the knowledge, training, and tools they need to gain entry into a building trades apprenticeship program.Skills taught in the classroom and onsite include: Use of construction terms, tools, and equipment General job safety and First Aid Measurements and basic blueprint reading Modern Carpentry Textbook Units 1 thru 30 Enhance and improve math, reading, and writing skills Development of proper work habits Preparation for apprenticeship entry exams GED preparation and testing Certifications - OSHA 10HR Safety, OSHA 40HR Hazwoper, OSHA 8HR Hazmat, and Forklift

- Eligibility: Must be 17 years of age with a high school Diploma/GED or 18+ years of age.
- Requirements: Copies of the following:- Completed Application- California ID or Driver's License- Social Security Card- Current 3-Year DMV Printout- High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED Certificate- Selective Service Card (Males 18 -26 yrs.)- Permanent Resident CardAt least 3 of these documents need to be turned in before an individual can collect any earned certifications.
